I will try to figure out its history and how far it has evolved and changed. This is where I will take all of my notes.
Notes:
The first paintballs were created by the Nelson Paint Company during the 1950's .
They were used as a farming technique. The farmers would shoot cattle and trees to mark them as theirs.
Twenty years later it became a game of survival in the woods of Henniker, New Hampshire. The game of paintball began.
In 1971, James Hale of the Daisy Manufacturing Company developed and patented the first actual gun; later used in playing paintball.
On June 17, 1981 Charles Gaines and some friends were trying to settle an argument that had evolved over the course of a month. So what they finally came to was a game where they could shoot each other with paint
Players must call themselves "out" when they are hit by a paintball..
It wasn't until a year and a half later that George Butler, a friend of theirs, showed them a paintball gun from an agriculture catalog.
This gun was a Nelspot 007 and was created by the Nelson Paint Company.
Then they took that gun and had the very first Paintball game ever.
Bob Gurnsey created the First game of "capture the flag" paintball. This is where you try to take the other teams flag while still protecting your own and not getting shot.
After this, the Nelson Paint Company began selling the guns to the public.
This was great fun for many people. So in 1982, the first paintball field was opened in Rochester, New York.
The first indoor field soon followed.
Charles Gaines marketed intball as the National Survival Game or NSG, for short.
Back then, it was more of an "everyman for himself" kind of game unlike today.
In 1983, the first NSG national championship was held with a reward of $14,000.
In 1984, paintball fields were opening in Australia, and the next year, England began their first paintball games.
Then in 1988, the International Paintball Players Association was founded. It is an association that has grown the sport and lead to the education and safety of paintball.
As time passed; paintball fields and indoor arenas have opened all over the world.
It is now one of the fastest growing games in the world.
As the sport of paintball evolved; so did the "big idea" of paintball.
People wanted to be entertained when watching a match. Smaller fields made for quick action.
New types, styles and methods of play were created to keep things fun and interresting
This very young sport of only a few decades is still evolving.
The equipment has really become quite sophisticated.
The equipment is the main thing that sets paintball apart from other sports.
Their is no other sport where you can find the combination of paint and guns.
When you get hit it will have a small sting but no real pain
In the early days; no safety equipment was worn at all. Now, safety goggles as well as face masks and helmets must be worn at all times.
The head is the most vulnerable to attack from a paintball.
Paintball has also been used in military training
The guns are completely different from what a soldier would use in combat; but it is still good training for combat.
The most important part of this training is the strategy. Strategy is a big part of winning at paintball as well as winning a battle.
Paintball has had sort of a weird history; but the sport continues to change and get more popular.
Paintball is a craze that has been growing rapidily around the world.
It is a sport that is so young that nobody can predict the advances and all the changes that will happen to it.

·The biggest difference between paintball during the early days and now is that back then it used to be now of a stealth game and now it is a non-stop action game. oWhen it was created it was played in big forests and dense woods. Even the competitions were played in forests. oNow most of the games are played in speed ball fields. Speed ball is a type of paintball where all of the bunkers and places to hide behind are blow up and most of the fields aren’t bigger than a basketball court. ·Another difference is that now there are new modes of play. oBack when Paintball was created the only types of games were deathmatch and capture the flag. oNo there are many modes like capture the flag, team deathmatch, protect the president, free-for-all, puppy on the run, and many more.
